Shih Tzu Puppies for Sale in Georgia
Georgia is the state where I worry least about the journey and most about the terminal. Getting a puppy into Atlanta could hardly be easier. Walking it from a far gate out to your car, with a carrier in one hand and a bag in the other, through the busiest airport on earth, is the part nobody thinks to warn you about. So I will, because it is the only bit of a Georgia placement that ever goes wrong.
Atlanta is the easiest big-city airport in the country to reach from Phoenix, with nonstops all day of about three hours forty. Savannah, Augusta and the rest of the state either connect through Atlanta or are a drive from it, so for once the airport and the buyer are usually in the same place.
How your puppy travels to Georgia
Fly to Phoenix in the morning, meet the puppy, fly home together with it under the seat that afternoon. Atlanta is a big airport to walk through with a carrier, so give yourself time at the far end and find a pet relief area before you leave the terminal. If you cannot make the trip, a flight nanny takes the same nonstop and hands the puppy to you at arrivals.
Not sure which way suits you? Tell me where you are and I will tell you what I would do.
Getting a puppy to Atlanta, Savannah, Augusta and the rest of Georgia
Atlanta is the nonstop, and Hartsfield does nearly the whole state: Athens is about ninety minutes away, Macon much the same, Columbus a little further. Savannah and Augusta are the two that are properly their own places, each a connection through Atlanta or a two to four hour drive from it, and for those a nanny into Atlanta and a drive down is usually the better plan.
Keeping a Shih Tzu in Georgia
A Georgia summer is a humid one, and that is the season to manage with a flat-faced breed. Early walks, a cool house, a coat kept short from May to September, and the dog indoors when the air is thick. Atlanta traffic is the other thing: a Shih Tzu used to a carrier travels well, and mine are, so a long commute with the dog is workable. Winters are mild and easy.
Shih Tzu breeders in Georgia
Georgia searches for Shih Tzu breeders come with a lot of price qualifiers attached, and I cannot meet the ones under three or four hundred dollars. What I can offer is a purebred puppy from our home in Sedona, small adults of about 8lb, and a nonstop from Atlanta. No application, no deposit.
Whether you are in Atlanta, Savannah, Augusta, Macon, Athens, Columbus or anywhere else in Georgia, the route is the same one and the offer is the same: the puppies available now, and a straight answer to anything you ask.
Buying a Shih Tzu puppy in Georgia: your questions
Do you sell Shih Tzu puppies to Georgia families?
I do, and Georgia is about as easy as this gets logistically. Fly out of Atlanta in the morning, spend an hour with me and the puppies in Phoenix, fly home that afternoon with yours under the seat. If you cannot take the day, a nanny takes the same nonstop and hands your puppy to you at arrivals. Cargo is not an option I offer and not one I would use.
What should I expect at Hartsfield with a puppy?
Time, mostly. It is the busiest airport in the world and the walk from a far gate with a carrier in one hand is longer than you are imagining, so do not book anything tight at the other end. Find the pet relief area before you leave the terminal rather than after, because your puppy will have been very patient by then. Once you are in the car it is a non event.
Is a Georgia summer hard on a Shih Tzu?
The humidity is the season to manage, not the temperature. From May to September that means early walks, a cool house, the coat kept short and the dog indoors when the air goes thick. Winters are mild and completely easy. The other Georgia fact worth knowing is the traffic: a Shih Tzu used to a carrier travels well, and mine already are, so a long Atlanta commute with the dog in the car is workable.
Why are you more than the Georgia listings?
A lot of the Georgia searching that reaches me has a price qualifier attached to it, and I cannot meet the ones under three or four hundred dollars. Mine are $700 for a boy and $750 for a girl. What that buys is a purebred puppy from our home in Sedona, small adults of about eight pounds, met in person in Phoenix, with no application and no deposit. What is included.
