These are the two things every family asks me about once they have settled on a puppy: what the first few weeks are actually like, and what on earth to do about the coat. Both are written from what happens in this house rather than copied off a breed page, and both are longer than they strictly need to be, because the short version is never the one that helps at eleven at night with a puppy that will not settle.
